Since 2012, Teresa serves on the Board of ON Semiconductor, a $4B NASDAQ public company serving on the Audit Committee & the Governance/Nominating committee. Teresa is a “financial expert” relative to compliance with the SEC and NASDAQ/NYSE criteria requirements on the audit committee. Since 2014, Teresa is also on the board of Atlantic Power, dual listed on the Toronto exchange and NYSE. Teresa is chair of their Compensation Committee, a member of the Nominating and Governance committee and recently anchored their search for a new CEO.
Previously, Teresa worked across international banking and finance as CEO, UBS Securities LLC (U.S. division of UBS Investment Bank for 5+ years) and led UBS’ Americas region as Chief Operating Officer prior to her CEO tenure across the U.S./Canada and Latin America having handled the integration leadership role for several key acquisitions in both Canada and Brazil. Her industry experience spans Finance & Financial Services, Private Sector Technology at all levels, Defense & Manufacturing as well as the U.S. Government. Currently, Teresa complements her board activities as part of an international asset management firm across global investment strategies.
From 2001-2004, Teresa served at the United States Treasury. Confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the Assistant Secretary for Management and Chief Financial Officer, her broad duties included financial management, strategy around revenue collection for the I.R.S and the U.S. Customs Bureau, handling the government’s audit across the Department, reporting and cash flow duties, along with an array of regulatory oversight matters for financial markets and financial institutions. Teresa was awarded the Treasury Medal for her service as the Chief Financial Officer of the U.S. Treasury and handled an array of divestiture matters across Treasury related to the creation of Homeland Security and specifically technology oversight related to program spending. For her service representing the Secretary of the Treasury’s interests at the I.R.S Oversight Board particularly around the technology platform and customer interfaces and her Treasury leadership with IRS colleagues around technology and revenue collections, Teresa was awarded the Commissioner’s Award from the Service. She holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and two engineering degrees from the University of Delaware. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a non-partisan organization exploring public policy and corporate interactions across the globe.
Teresa has served on the board of Eko Systems, a health care technology private equity company (1999-2001) and has experience with private equity, venture funding, along with the public equity board roles noted above.
Earlier in Teresa’s professional career, she worked across Asia Pacific with a major computer manufacturer (1990-1994), followed by tenure as Chief Compliance Officer of a $20B (equivalent) major hospital chain prior to her public service assignment(s) and Chief Operating Officer (e-commerce). Teresa’s audit career included 100+ facility level audits and during those efforts, she has worked extensively across 25+ countries particularly India, China, Japan, Australia, Switzerland, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the Ukraine and a number of other locations for M&A deals and/or transactions within multiple industries including environmental liability and real estate. Teresa has been a frequent public speaker on financial literacy and using financial information to bolster the quality of decision-making. Teresa is known for her sense of humour coupled with a keen ability to solve problems.
