Dean Seavers is an accomplished senior executive with a proven record of building successful teams, profitably growing large businesses, and improving the operations of underperforming businesses. Seavers is President of National Grid, U.S. and Executive Director of National Grid, plc. Seavers is a founding Board member and past President and CEO of Red Hawk Fire & Security, the 2nd largest independent fire and security platform in the US, providing highly sophisticated fire and integrated security solutions to large and mid-sized commercial customers.
Previously, Seavers was President, Global Services at United Technologies’ Fire and Security business, where he was responsible for a global portfolio of 5 businesses and $4 billion in annual revenue. Earlier, he was President and CEO of GE Security, where he led the strategic refocusing of this leading supplier of security and life safety technologies with operations in more than 35 countries and $1.8 billion in annual sales. Seavers led the sale and transition of GE Security to United Technologies in 2010.
Seavers joined GE from Tyco International where he was a Corporate Officer and President of SimplexGrinnell, a $2 billion fire and security services business. From 2003 to 2007, Seavers led his senior management team to double the company's profitability and cash generation.
Seavers began his career in advertising and product planning at Ford Motor Company. From there, he held a series of leadership roles at PepsiCo, Allied Domecq Retailing, and Burger King Corp. In 2000, he joined Tyco’s ADT security business as Regional Vice President of Operations and advanced to Senior Vice President, before being promoted to President of SimplexGrinnell in 2004.
A native of Sandusky, OH, Seavers graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in business from Kent State University and earned an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
